We will broadcast a testimony from Zhang Xianling (張先玲), a member of the Tiananmen Mothers. Additionally, we will read an important statement from Chow Hang-tung, who will be staging a 37-hour hunger strike from prison in Hong Kong.
Throughout the evening, we will be joined by speakers representing the Uyghur and Tibetan communities, Hong Kongers in exile, and local human rights activists. Their presence underscores that the struggle for justice and civil liberties is a shared commitment.
As this year also marks the 60th anniversary of the Cultural Revolution, one of our speakers will offer reflections on the historical connection between the Cultural Revolution and the 1989 Democracy Movement.
